If your collection already exists as a file or on another wine app, import it — one upload beats hundreds of taps. If it only exists as bottles on a rack, scanning the labels with your camera is the quickest way in.

⚠️ Import before you start adding by hand. An import adds and never merges, so uploading a file on top of bottles you already entered leaves you with two of each.
Importing
Every source is started on the web at app.invintory.com under Import Bottles; CellarTracker can also be started on iPhone, iPad and Android. CellarTracker and Vivino are matched automatically, so they are the quicker two — a spreadsheet is read by one of our sommeliers before the bottles land, which takes longer but handles a file in any shape.

One bottle at a time
On iPhone, iPad and Android, tap the camera button in the middle of the tab bar and point it at the front or back of the label. Cursive and heavily decorated labels are what scanning struggles with; when one will not read, search for the wine instead. It is the same search on every platform and it is fastest typed on a desktop keyboard.
Either way, a wine we do not already have is created for you. The bottles are real and editable straight away — you are not waiting on anything — and catalogue details like the drink window and market value fill in once the wine is approved.
