Custom fields are your own text, number and date fields, added to the add-bottle form so you can track what InVintory doesn't. They come in two kinds, and the difference is scope.
⭐ Requires a paid plan. On the free plan the custom fields section of the form shows an upgrade card instead, and the settings rows offer the same.
The two kinds, and how to choose
Pick by asking whether the answer could differ between two bottles of the same wine.

Both appear as their own section on the add-bottle form, each with that wording underneath, so you can see which you are filling in.
Create a field
From the home screen, tap your collection name, then Collection settings.
Under Customization, tap Label custom fields or Bottle custom fields.
Tap Add custom field.
Name it, choose a Type, and tap Save.
Home → collection name → Collection settings → Bottle custom fields → Add custom field
Names have to be unique within a kind — reuse one and the app tells you. The allowance per kind is small and fixed, so spend it deliberately.
The three types
The type decides how you can filter on the field later:
Text — filters as a Contains match, so partial words find it.
Number — filters as a Min and Max range.
Date — filters as a range between two dates.
You can change a field's type afterwards if you get it wrong.
Filling in and using values
Enter values on the add-bottle form, by opening a bottle and tapping Edit, or by editing several bottles together.
Filter — the filter panel lists Custom label fields and Custom bottle fields as their own sections.
Barcode labels — any field you have created can be one of the details you print.
CSV export — each field gets a column; a label field and a bottle field sharing a name share one.
On the web — each field is also available as a column in your collection table.
Deleting a field
Deleting a field clears its value from every label, or every bottle, in the collection — the screen says so before you confirm. Nothing else changes.
On Android and on the web
On app.invintory.com, go to Settings, click your collection, then Custom fields under Customization — one screen with both kinds on it.
Android has both kinds, in the same place: Collection settings → Customization → Label custom fields or Bottle custom fields.
Creating and deleting fields is limited to the owner and admins. Editors can fill in values.
