Almost every cellar and fridge people build comes down to four shapes. Recognise yours in the table below and a section is a handful of taps rather than a puzzle.

Build the units you actually own, not one big box. A configured storage typically ends up with about three sections — one per rack, shelf or case that physically exists. That is what makes a coordinate mean something when you are standing in front of it.
The four shapes

Loose wine cases and alternating fridge shelves are the two most common sections in InVintory, so if one of those is what you have, you are on the well-trodden path.
Setting the size
Every section is sized with three steppers — Column, Row and Depth. Read them as across, high and deep, and count the real holes rather than the bottles you own today.
A Rack offers all three. Depth is 2 when the rack holds one bottle behind another.
A Bin offers Column and Row only — a bin holds as many bottles as you pile in, so there is no depth to set.
A Case offers none.
Sections → Create → Rack → Grid → bottle direction → Column, Row, Depth → Save
Slots you don't have — a corner cut out, a shelf that stops short — are removed afterwards with Remove bottle slots, not by shrinking the whole section.
The full shape menus
Rack groups its shapes as Trellis (Grid, Lattice), Wall Mounted (Horizontal, Flat), Shelves (Horizontal, Vertical, Flat, Tilted) and Special Display (Rotating).
Bin groups them as Rectangles (Square, Rectangle, Cross Rectangle, Half Rectangle, Diamond), Isosceles Triangles and Right Triangles.
A fridge offers six shelf types instead: Flat, Lattice, Horizontal, Vertical, Tilted and Bins.
