The fastest way is a left swipe. On your collection page, swipe left on the wine, tap Remove, then tap Confirm — the reason is already set to Consumed, so a bottle you have just drunk takes three taps and no typing.
Collection → swipe left on the wine → Remove → Confirm
Own one bottle of that wine and you land straight on the removal form. Own several and one extra screen asks which. Everything else — date, note, tags — is optional, and leaving the date alone records today.
Pick the route that matches where you are
Where you are | Fastest route |
Looking at your collection | Swipe left on the wine, then Remove |
Anywhere else in the app | The + button, then Remove, then search your collection |
Holding a bottle with an InVintory barcode on it | The + button, then Remove, then the barcode icon in the search field |
Clearing out several wines at once | Tap the selection circle on each wine's row, then Remove in the bar that appears |
Consumed is the reason that counts
Seven reasons ship as standard — Consumed, Gifted, Sold, Broken, Expired, Donated and Missing — unless your collection has custom reasons of its own. Picking the honest one costs nothing, but only Consumed counts a bottle as drunk in your analytics. Your Year in Review is more forgiving: every removal reason feeds its drinking cards.
⚠️ Delete is not a removal. It makes you type DELETE and the bottle count, it counts for neither your analytics nor your Year in Review, it never appears in Past Bottles, and Undo removal cannot bring it back. Keep it for a bottle you never actually owned.
Ten or more asks you to type
On iPhone and iPad, removing ten or more bottles in one go asks you to type REMOVE and the number. That is the only friction in the flow; nothing else about a bulk removal differs from a single one.
Say something about it while you remember
Consume bottles of a single wine and vintage on iPhone or iPad and a toast offers Create Review and Remind Later. Remind Later is the one worth tapping: it puts the wine in your reminders bell about a day later. Consuming without tapping either leaves nothing to come back to.
On Android and the web
Android's quick route is the Remove button beside Add on the home screen, then search. On the web you pick the reason from the Remove dropdown before the form opens, so there the reason is a choice rather than a default.
