A collection's name is a single field in its settings: open it, type a new one, save. It can be up to 50 characters, and everyone who shares the collection sees the change.
Until you set one, a collection is called <owner's name>'s Collection. That is a stand-in we work out from the owner's profile, not a name someone typed — so the first thing you save replaces it for good.
Make it whatever suits you: The Daiters' Wine Collection for a cellar you share with a spouse, or Ocean Prime Fort Lauderdale for a restaurant. If you have more than one collection, each is named separately.
On iPhone and iPad
On Home, tap your collection name in the top left.
Choose Collection settings.
Tap Name.
Type the new name and tap Done.
Home → collection name → Collection settings → Name → Done
You can also reach the same screen from Profile, where your collections are listed under My Collection and Other Collections.
On Android
Open Profile, then Settings.
Under Collections, tap the collection you want to rename.
Under Details, tap Name.
Type the new name and tap Done.
On the web
Go to app.invintory.com/settings.
Under My collections, click the collection.
In the General section, edit the Name field.
Click Save — the button appears as soon as you change the field.
If it will not save
What you see | Why |
Invalid Name — Name must be at least one character and less than 50 | The name is blank or too long. Trim it to 50 characters or fewer. |
The name shows but you cannot edit it, or the save is refused | You joined the collection as a viewer. Renaming needs editor access — ask the owner. The web hides the field outright; the apps let you open it and then refuse the save. |
