Open the bottle, tap Edit, tap Vintage, pick the year and tap Save. There is no need to delete the bottle and add it again — and N.V. sits at the top of the list for non-vintage wines.
💡 The vintage is how we identify the wine, so changing it moves the bottle. Your collection groups bottles by wine and vintage, so the bottle leaves its old row and joins the row for the new year — creating that row if you are the first to own it. Its drink window, critic scores, market price and vintage guide all become the new year's.
Changing a bottle's vintage
Open the Collection tab and tap the wine.
Tap the bottle you want to correct.
Tap Edit.
Vintage is the first row under Bottle info. Tap it and pick a year, or N.V.
Tap Save.
To move a whole row at once, select every bottle in it from the collection list and use Edit there — the vintage row only appears while the selection is one single wine and year, because we re-file one row at a time.
What comes with the bottle, and what stays behind
The bottle keeps everything of its own: its bottle code, storage, 3D slot, tags, purchase price and date, source, note and custom bottle fields.
What it leaves behind is anything you had set on the wine and vintage, because that belongs to the old year rather than to the bottle:
a custom market value
a drink window or ABV you edited yourself
custom label field values, and a label photo you uploaded
tasting notes you wrote — a review stays on the vintage you tasted
Set those again on the new row if you still want them. Note the contrast with Change Wine, on the wine's ⋯ menu on iPhone and iPad: that one keeps the year and carries your custom label fields and photos across with it, so reach for it when the wine is wrong rather than the year.
If the year isn't one we hold
Usually that is fine — we create the row for it and your bottle lands there. Where we know a wine is only made in certain years, or is non-vintage by definition, a year outside that set is refused with This vintage isn't available for this wine. If you are holding the bottle and we say it doesn't exist, our data is what needs fixing: use How to report wine information and we will sort it out.
On each platform
iPhone & iPad: Collection → the wine → the bottle → Edit → Vintage → Save
Android: Collection → the wine → the bottle → Edit → Bottle info → Vintage
Web: app.invintory.com → the wine → tick the bottle → Edit → Year → Save
The field is called Year on the web, and if you have ticked bottles from more than one year it says Cannot edit year as mixed content instead of offering the dropdown. On Android the vintage row is hidden in bulk edits altogether, so change vintages a bottle at a time there. Everywhere, editing needs edit access on the collection.
