It depends entirely on where the wine is coming from. A CellarTracker or Vivino import is matched automatically, with no queue and no one checking it — the bottles appear as soon as the matching finishes. A spreadsheet is read by our sommeliers first, and the app tells you that can take up to a week.
⚠️ Cancelling and re-uploading does not move you up the queue. The app says so in as many words: “canceling and uploading a new .CSV will not speed up the review process. You will maintain your same place in the queue.”
What to expect from each source

On iPhone, iPad and Android, tapping Vivino or Spreadsheet emails you the upload link rather than opening a form — there is no file picker in the apps.
Why a spreadsheet is slower
CellarTracker and Vivino hand us an identifier for each wine, so we can match it exactly. A spreadsheet is just names, so anything we cannot match with confidence is looked at by one of our sommeliers before it reaches your collection.
Two things speed it up: use Download our template on the upload page, and fill in Wine type and Grapes. Unusual wines and unusual column names are what slow a file down.
Wines we could not match
These do not hold up the rest of your import. When it finishes, everyone who owns or administers the collection gets a notification — in the app, by email and as a push — and if anything went unmatched, the email carries a spreadsheet listing those rows so you can see exactly what needs attention.
Any wine we had to create for you joins our wine database queue. The bottles are already in your collection and fully editable; details like drink windows and market values fill in once the wine is approved.
💡 Only one import can run at a time. Start a second one and you are told the collection already has an import in progress.

iPhone & iPad: a banner above the tab bar shows the bottle count and the progress
Web: app.invintory.com → a progress toast, or a banner on the Bottles page
Android has no import progress display — wait for the notification.
