Understanding wait times for wines in review

The In review badge means our sommeliers have not filled in the wine's data yet — you can add bottles of it and edit it in the meantime.

A wine that is waiting on our sommeliers carries an In review badge — and you can use it straight away. The badge only means we have not finished filling in its data yet.

You do not have to wait. The wine is already in your search results, you can add bottles of it, and you can edit its details yourself. The review changes nothing about your collection.

How long it takes

The badge's own explanation is the honest answer: in the coming weeks, our sommeliers will verify this label's data and add details like drink window, market value and structure notes.

There is no queue position to check, and submitting the same wine again does not move it up. A clear photo of the front label, or a link from one of the sites the submission form lists, is what makes a wine quick to work through.

What is waiting, and what is not

Waiting on the review

Yours right now

The drink window we work out for the wine

Adding, moving and removing bottles of it

Its market value

Vintage, quantity, storage, the price you paid, tags and notes

Structure notes and the rest of the wine's profile

Your own drink window, ABV and market value, which override ours anyway

Other people being able to find the wine

Reviews you write on it

Search again before you wait

It is often a wine we already carry, spelled differently. Search for the producer and the wine without words like Domaine, Vineyard or Estate — every extra word narrows the search rather than widening it. If you find it, add your bottles from that entry and ignore the submission.
