How to edit market prices

Set your own market value for a wine, a vintage and a bottle size — and reset it back to ours.

A market value belongs to a wine, a vintage and one bottle size — so open the wine, tap its Market Value, choose the size and type your own number. Yours replaces ours from then on.

What your edit covers

Market values are stored per bottle format, so a magnum carries its own price alongside the 750ml. Editing one size leaves every other size on our number.

Your edit applies to

Which means

The wine and vintage

Every bottle of it, not the one bottle you opened

One bottle size

Only the size you edited

The collection

Anyone who can see the collection sees your number

It does not expire

We refresh our market values regularly and yours sits on top of them until you reset it. That is the point of an override — but it also means a number you set two years ago is still the number you see, and still the one counted in your collection value. Worth revisiting occasionally.

On iPhone & iPad

  1. Open the wine from your Collection.

  2. Tap the Market Value tile in the wine's header.

  3. Tap the bottle size you want to change.

  4. Type the amount. To enter it in a different currency, tap the currency code to the left of the field.

  5. Tap Save.

The number turns gold and the tag above the list becomes Custom market value, with our own price credited underneath it. To undo the edit, reopen that size and tap Reset — or Clear, if we never had a price for it.

On Android

  1. Open the wine and tap More.

  2. Tap Edit market price, then the size you want.

  3. Enter the amount, pick a currency, and tap Save. Reset puts ours back.

On the web app

  1. In your collection table, click the wine's Est. market value cell — one line per size you own.

  2. Enter the amount, choose a currency, and save.

The wine's own page has the same control under Market ValueSet custom market value, which asks for the bottle size first.

Collection → wine → Market Value → size → amount → Save

If there is no pencil to tap

Editing a market value needs an editor role on the collection, and at least one bottle of that wine in it — there is nothing to price otherwise.
