How to use your own photo as a wine's label image

Swap the database label image for one of your photos, the label you scanned or a fresh upload, for this collection only, and put the database image back any time.

Every wine in your collection shows the label image from our database. You can replace it, vintage by vintage, with one of your own photos, the label you scanned when you added the wine, or a photo you upload on the spot. The change applies to your collection only. The database image stays as it is for everyone else, and you can go back to it whenever you like.

What you can choose from

Your photos

The photos you attached to this vintage under Photos.

Your scan

The most recent label scan you added this wine from, when you added it by scanning.

Upload

A new photo from your camera or gallery. It is used straight away and is not added to your Photos.

The picture in use has a ring around it and a check mark.

On iPhone and iPad

  1. Open the wine from your collection.

  2. Tap the pencil on the label image at the top, or open the ⋯ menu and tap Edit label image.

  3. Tap a picture, or tap Upload and choose Camera or Gallery.

The new image shows on the wine and in your collection list. Under Photos, the photo in use carries a Label image badge.

  2. Click the pencil on the label image.

Not yet. Android shows the label image you chose on iPhone or the web.

Good to know

🔒 Only editors can change the label image. Viewers see the image but not the pencil. If any bottle of the wine sits in a wine club storage you can only view, the image cannot be changed either.

  • The choice is per vintage. The 2019 and the 2020 of the same wine can each have their own picture.

  • If you delete the photo that is in use, the wine goes back to the database image.

  • If the database image itself is wrong, How to report wine information gets it fixed for everyone.
