Open the wine, tap ⋯, tap Change wine, pick the right wine and confirm. It is for bottles added under the wrong wine — a label scan that matched the wrong producer, a neighbouring cuvée, a wrong match in an import. There is no need to delete the bottles and add them again.
💡 Change wine keeps the year and moves the bottles to a new row. Your collection groups bottles by wine and vintage, so the bottles leave their old row and join the right wine's row for the same year — creating that row if you are the first to own it. If it is the year that is wrong rather than the wine, edit the vintage instead.
Changing every bottle on a row
Open the Collection tab and tap the wine.
Tap ⋯.
Tap Change wine.
Search for the wine the bottles should be and tap it.
Confirm.
Every bottle on that row moves to the new wine together, wherever it is stored.
Changing only some bottles
When only part of a row is wrong — two of your six bottles were really the reserve — select just those:
Open the wine and select the bottles that are wrong.
Tap ⋯, then Change wine.
Pick the right wine and confirm.
The selection has to come from one wine and one vintage, because we re-file one row at a time — Change wine is hidden while a selection mixes rows. Changing 10 or more bottles asks you to type CONFIRM first. On iPhone and iPad this also works on bottles in Past bottles and on deliveries still on their way, and it needs version 6.39 or later.
What comes with the bottles, and what stays behind
Each bottle keeps everything of its own: its year, storage and 3D slot, bottle code, tags, purchase price and date, source, note and custom bottle fields. It picks up the right wine's details — market price, drink window, critic scores — and the change is recorded in Activity.
What stays behind is anything you had set on the old wine and vintage, because that belongs to the wine rather than to the bottle:
a custom market value
a drink window or ABV you edited yourself
custom label field values, and a label photo you uploaded
tasting notes you wrote — a review stays on the wine you tasted
Set those again on the new row if you still want them.
If the right wine isn't in the search
The search covers our whole database. If the wine is not there, add it to our database first, then change the bottles to it. On the web app the search also shows wines your collection already holds that are still in review.
If your bottles are filed correctly but the wine's own details are wrong for everyone — the producer, the grapes, the label photo — that is a report rather than a change: use How to report wine information and we will fix it.
On each platform
iPhone & iPad: Collection → the wine → ⋯ → Change wine → pick the wine → confirm
iPhone & iPad, some bottles: Collection → the wine → select the bottles → ⋯ → Change wine
Web: app.invintory.com → the wine → ⋯ (beside Save to list) → Change wine → pick the wine → confirm
Web, some bottles: app.invintory.com → tick the bottles → Change wine in the selection bar
Android does not have Change wine yet, so use app.invintory.com in a browser for this. Everywhere, changing the wine needs edit access on the collection — viewers cannot use it.
