Sections are the racks, bins and shelves inside a storage: open the storage, tap Create under Sections, pick a shape, then set its column, row and depth counts.
⭐ Requires Premium. On Free a storage shows an upgrade card instead of its sections list. Every paid plan gets unlimited sections.
You are not asked for a name first. On iPhone and iPad each new section is created as Rack 1, Bin 1 or Shelf 1; you rename it afterwards from its three-dot menu. The web app and Android give you a name field while you build.
On iPhone and iPad
On the home screen, under Cellars & fridges, tap your storage.
Scroll to Sections and tap Create. The first time, an intro appears — tap Create your first section.
Choose Rack or Bin; tap Racks vs. Bins if you are unsure. On a fridge this screen is Shelf Type and lists shelf shapes directly.
Choose the shape that looks like the real thing. Racks are grouped into Trellis, Wall Mounted, Shelves and Special Display; bins into rectangles and triangles.
Choose a bottle direction. It is cosmetic: it changes how bottles are drawn, never where one is found.
Set Column, Row and Depth with the + / − buttons, matched to the real slot count. Depth 2 means two bottles front to back. The 3D preview rebuilds as you go.
Tap Create, then + Add another, or Done.

What the shape names mean
Flat | Lying flat, side by side. A fridge shelf can also alternate front and back. |
Horizontal | Lying flat with the cork to one side. |
Vertical | Standing upright. |
Tilted | Upright and tilted back. |
Lattice | A varied number of bottles per row. |
Bin / Bins | No individual slots — an open space holding any number of bottles, shown as a count. |
Managing a section
Each row shows how many slots are open. Its three-dot menu holds Add bottles, Rename, Modify, Duplicate, Move Up / Move Down, Connect CellarSticker and Delete. Duplicate is the shortcut for identical racks. Deleting asks you to type CONFIRM; bottles stay in your collection and only lose their positions.
On Android and the web
Android (beta): Cellars → open a cellar → Sections → Create.
app.invintory.com: open a storage from the left menu, scroll to Storage Sections (Fridge Sections on a fridge) and click Create. Same steps from there.
