Storages represent the physical places where you keep your wine — a cellar, wine fridge, kitchen rack, wall, or anywhere else. Creating storages helps you organize your collection by location and track where every bottle lives.
Creating a Storage
From the home screen, tap Edit next to "Cellars & fridges" to open the storage list. Then tap Create in the top right and choose either Create Cellar or Create Fridge.
Storage Details
Name (required) — Give your storage a descriptive name like "Basement Cellar", "Kitchen Fridge", or "Garage Rack"
Cover image — Tap the image area to add a photo of your storage from the camera, photo library, or files
Color and icon — Choose a color and icon to make this storage easy to identify at a glance
Tap Create when you're done. Your new storage will appear in the list immediately.
Cellar vs. Fridge
Both work the same way — the distinction is just for organization. Choose whichever label best describes the storage location. You can change a storage's details at any time.
Managing Your Storages
Editing
Swipe left on any storage in the list and tap Edit, or open the storage and use the gear menu. You can change the name, photo, color, and icon.
Reordering
Drag the handle on the right side of each storage row to rearrange the order they appear on your home screen and throughout the app.
Deleting
Open a storage, tap the gear menu, and select Delete. If the storage contains bottles, you'll be given the option to transfer them to another storage first.
You must always have at least one storage. The last storage cannot be deleted.
After Creating a Storage
Once your storage is created, you can:
Add sections — Create racks, bins, and shelves inside the storage to organize bottles by position
Assign bottles — When adding bottles to your collection, select this storage as the destination
Set up VinLocate — Build a 3D model of the storage to visually track where every bottle sits
Connect a sensor — Link a Govee temperature/humidity sensor to monitor storage conditions
Tips
Name specifically — "Basement Left Wall" is more useful than "Cellar 1" when you have multiple storages.
Add a photo — A cover image makes it much easier to identify each storage at a glance on the home screen.
Storage quotas — The number of storages you can create depends on your subscription plan. Upgrade to add more.
