How to change your language

InVintory follows your device language where we translate it — and you can override that under Preferences.

InVintory follows your device's language where we have a translation for it. To override that, set the language yourself in Settings, under Preferences.

The app is translated into eight languages: English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Portuguese (Brazil), Japanese and Chinese (Simplified). Anything you typed yourself — bottle notes, tags, collection and cellar names — is never translated.

On iPhone and iPad

Profile → gear → Preferences → Language
  1. Tap Profile in the bottom bar, then the gear in the top right.

  2. Under Preferences, tap Language.

  3. Pick the language you want.

  4. Close the app completely and reopen it.

The app says the same thing when you choose: “To update your app to Français, you'll need to close and re-open your InVintory app.” Nothing changes on screen until you do — the setting is saved, not ignored.

On Android

  1. Tap Profile, then the gear.

  2. Under Preferences, tap Language.

  3. Pick a language from the list. It applies immediately, with no restart.

Android offers fewer languages than the iPhone and iPad app while translation catches up, and it starts on your device's language if that one is in its list.

On the web app

The web app is English only. There is no language setting there, and the choice you made on your phone does not carry across.
