InVintory creates reminders to help you write tasting notes for wines you've consumed. When you mark a bottle as consumed but don't write a review right away, InVintory can remind you later so your impressions don't get lost.
How Reminders Work
When you consume a bottle, you'll see two options:
Create Review — Write your tasting notes immediately
Remind Later — Get a push notification reminding you to write the review
If you tap Remind Later, InVintory schedules a push notification to prompt you to come back and add your tasting notes.
Viewing Your Reminders
Tap the bell icon in the top-right corner of the home screen to open your Reminders list. If you have pending reminders, a number badge appears on the bell.
The Reminders screen shows all pending tasting note reminders. Each one displays:
The wine name and thumbnail
The vintage year
When it was consumed (e.g., "Consumed 2 bottles, 3 days ago")
Tap any reminder to open the review creation screen for that wine.
Dismissing Reminders
If you don't want to write a review for a particular wine, swipe left on the reminder and tap Dismiss. The reminder will be removed and won't come back.
Push Notifications
For reminders to work, you need to allow push notifications for InVintory. The app will ask for permission the first time you tap "Remind Later." You can manage this in Settings → Notifications → InVintory on your iPhone.
Tips
Review while it's fresh — If you can, write the review right after tasting. But if you're at a dinner party, "Remind Later" ensures you don't forget entirely.
Even a quick note counts — You don't need to write a full review. A few words like "Loved it, great with the steak" is better than no note at all.
Check the bell regularly — Pending reminders stack up. Glance at the bell icon on the home screen to see if you have tasting notes to catch up on.
Reminders feed your data — Tasting notes and reviews power your Year in Review, help Vincent give better recommendations, and create a permanent record of every wine you've enjoyed.
